Oh Canada.

Roger, a Canadian here on business was busy taking a picture of the beach warning sign that has the different color flags and their warnings. These are rip currents, high winds and the blue flag is for Man of War or Jellyfish. He asked if this was for real, thinking it might be a joke. I told him sure but it does not happen very often with excessive dangerous jellyfish. I also said that some people can have adverse reactions and can die. He was surprised. I then said you know those that die from these stings are like anyone else who dies – they wind up in Heaven or Hell. I asked Roger where he thought he might go.

There was the transition – I did not even think about it, but the Holy Spirit led me through this and the rest of the conversation. Roger was very interested in hearing about Law and Grace. I wrapped it up by telling him to look for the Bible that was probably in his hotel room. He said he would and also read the “Why Christianity” booklet. I did mention if he saw a Book or Mormon to pitch it and not read it. He said he knew about this type of religion (I corrected him to call Mormonism a cult) because some of his relatives are JW’s and he knew what they said was a lie.
Pray Roger reads and follows through with where the Lord is leading him.

Dan was with another guy drinking coffee and I stopped to talk to him. Gave him a MDB and asked where he was going when he died. He said he was a Christian and knew about repentance and grace and would be going to heaven. I challenged him and asked if I were stabbed in the back and fell in front of him – how would I get to heaven? He answered again about repentance and that Jesus died on the Cross for the repentant sinner. So I thought this was easy, time to move on.

Then Dan explained he had stopped going to church because they did not like his life style. He told me the guy next to him was his life partner, Steve. Dan said he was married and has some kids but knew he was genetically homosexual. (huh?)

I asked him what he thought of the verses throughout the Bible regarding homosexuality. (1 Corinthians says 'no homosexuals will enter heaven'). He said he would deal with that when he died and was in front of God because he knew God knew him well enough. I asked if there was anything else in the Bible he thought was false. Either all the Bible is true or none of it is.

I left them thinking.

Dogs: Good segue.

John was sitting on a bench with his dog. I gave him a MDB, told him it had an important message on it. He kind of looked at and put it in his pocket. I asked about his dog, a yellow lab, talked about my dog and the other dogs we had. That they died and I wonder what happens to them? He said "interesting thought" to which I replied – "what will happen to you when you die?"

He told me about growing up as a Catholic, etc. I then went right to the Law, Repentance and Faith. I told him that God wants the relationship, not a religion. He got a “Why Christianity” booklet to read. He thanked me for talking to him and not shoving religion down his throat and now he has something to think about.

While I was walking away he stopped me and asked if we were born sinners. I reminded him of Adam and Eve and how they were born sinless but then fell into sin, blamed everyone else, including God for what they did and now we inherited this sin nature. He was not quite sure so I asked John if he had kids and he said 4 of them. I asked if he sat down with them to teach them how to lie or non respect him and his wife 100% of the time. He said “I get it now”.

Another Saturday at the beach…

Wrong god...wrong road.

As I handed out tracts I almost missed the three young people walking past me. "Hey, wait a minute!" I said to them. They turned to look at me with puzzled expressions on their faces.

As I gave them tracts one of the guys told me that he had a few of the Million Dollar Bills. I asked him if he had read them. He said yes, but I wasn't sure if he was just trying to be nice.

As I began to ask them questions the atmosphere became a little tense. They didn't like the fact that they would be held accountable for their actions. I suspected that the guys were gay. After hearing a few of the 10 Commandments, the girl, Michale told me that she had her own beliefs and was very happy with them. Sam, one of the guys, said he agreed with her.

"It doesn't matter what you believe, it matters if what you believe is true. Would you agree?" I gave them the example of walking off of a 2 story ledge and attempting to defy gravity-it doesn't work.

"What if someone has to tell a lie to prevent a murder? What if it's for the greater good?" Michale asked. Then quickly she said, "Men wrote the Bible."

I told her that God used men to write the Bible. "Oh, how do you know that?"

The Bible says so. "Holy men of old, spoke as they were moved...have you ever read it?"

"Yeah, I've read parts of it."

I could tell that Sam was frustrated but unable to put it into words. The other guy, James piped up that he didn't think God would send them to Hell for one violation.

"One violation? Just one single violation? Are you telling me that you have only violated God's Law one solitary time in your life?" He got so mad he walked off down the beach. I was actually relieved because they all talked at once and it was too hard for me to hear.

Sam agreed with James and said he didn't think that God, or the greater power-whatever it was, would punish us when we tried to be so good. Sam then started telling me that he was 'born this way'. I heartily agreed with him.

"We are all 'born to sin' Sam! None of us are good enough! Sam, God said that if we've broken just one law we've broken them all." I told him. Each time he would pause to think. I prayed that the Holy Spirit would break through to these kids. "Why did Jesus die?" Sam gave me a blank look, while Michale sarcastically said, "For our sins." I took them to a county courtroom where they apologized for their crimes. They agreed that they would not be allowed to go home based on an apology. A fine too high was levied and they could not pay it. When Someone came in and paid it for them, they agreed that they could leave without penalty. "You don't have what it takes."

"I don't think that God, whatever it is-has the right to judge me!" Michale spat out. "And I think it's really egotistical to bring something you wrote and push it at people."

"Now you're making yourself the judge aren't you?" I said to her. "First of all, God wrote it-I didn't. And what would you both think of me if in fact I truly believe what I am saying, but I never bother to tell you? What if I think,'Well I got my ticket!' and so I just go home and sit and think 'it's not my problem'. At least I am out here trying to let you know! I don't know you guys but I DO care-I don't want you to go to Hell! It's one thing to say you seek the truth. But it is only a true seeker of Truth that will actually turn that light around and shine it in his own eyes. All I'm asking is that you guys be open to the Truth. God said 'When you seek Me with your whole heart, you'll find me'."

At this they stopped talking-for what reason I don't know. I am praying that these young people will really think about this. I gave both of them a CD of Hell's Best Kept Secret with True & False conversions. After we read John 14:6 from the Gospel of John, which I get for free from pocketpower
. I always let people keep them hoping they will read some more.

1 Samuel 12:23-25 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way: Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you. But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.

Kidney Foundation Surf event and FFM Fishing Event

Cocoa Beach, FL is a prime spot for fishing especially when there are big surfing contests going on.
This audio is just a snippet of what it was like there over Labor Day weekend.

The girl with the back toward the camera was extremely concerned and was the one asking most of the questions. Her friend is the one concerned about Revelation. It started with 5 and ended with 3 – pretty good.

They all got the Gospel of John and I walked away. When I turned back I noticed the 2 who left wanted to see what they got, I then went over and offered Bibles to them and they declined and walked off.
The Truth was given and they are without excuse.

Big Bill brings gnarly waves!

Hurricane Bill is going up the Eastern Atlantic and creating what the surfers dream of: Gnarly Waves.

While in California a few years, I heard the expression before so I was not clueless but . . .

Anyway – it did bring out the surfers and spectators to watch. I was blessed to speak to several people today and reject by others – Praise God for that!

The guy in the photo did not want to give me his name. We spoke for a few minutes. He said he grew up in a 'Christianity environment' (whatever that means) and said when we die we ‘dissipate’ . Our energy just goes back to somewhere. He believes in God and no real Heaven or real Hell because God would not send people to burn in fire and brimstone forever. He decided to pick and choose his Bible verses a while ago and likes his way better. Well we went through the Law, etc. and he was not really convicted but curious. I explained what would happen in a court if he was guilty and someone else paid his fine, and while he thought that was a good idea to be ‘redeemed’ by someone else, he did not want to agree that Jesus paid his sin debt. (I don’t record on the beach due to wind noise). He then left to watch the waves.

Then I spoke to a few folks who were truly born again and there it is rare sight these days. Gave out several MDB’s and prayed for the others.

Spring Break '09

It was a beautiful Saturday here in central Florida, 83 and breezy. The spring breakers are here in full force.

I met with Steve and Dayna from our Way of the Master Intermediate Class; we prayed and hit the beaches with the unsaved, as well as those who claimed to be born again.

The first few folks did not want to talk and when asked if they believed in Heaven and Hell, they either said, "...no and I don’t want to talk about it" or another said "...yes but I don’t want to talk about it." Too many distractions for them.

A fellow I stopped and gave a MDB to, said he did believe in Heaven and will be going there. He proudly said he was a believer and that he had admitted his sin, repented and put his faith and trust in Jesus. Very encouraging to me. I asked if we would take a handful of tracts and hand them out when he got home, which he did.

Then I started to talk to Ron. Originally from Haiti he said he was a believer but further prodding showed he was not too sure of how and when he really surrender his life. Said his wife was a believer since she was born. I did not even go there.
Ron said she took him to church and what changed his mind was the movie “Left Behind”.

I asked him if I fell in front of him and had 3 minutes to live, how would I get to Heaven? He said he would pray for me. Sad. When I asked what he would say about sin and repentance, he said something about "...dying like you are could not be a sin." A disconnect here somehow.

Anyway, I gave him the example of a cure for his disease sin) but since he did not know he had the disease it would make no sense to him. I gave him the Good Person test about the law, and he admitted he broke the law. He could never tell me if he really admitted this to God.

Then he tells me he has heard some of this before on Joel Osteen. I had no comment except I told him I did not want his money,,,,,

I gave him some more info and asked him to re-think his walk with God – he was very sincere and I think he will.

Steve and Dayna had some good encounters and will post them later.

The Gospel of Jesus vs. Depraved Indifference: Cocoa Mardi Gras

FFM Ministries was asked by Tom Clark at Life Visual to join them at this outreach. Life Visual provides a gigantic movie screen – about 20 ft tall and shows Christian based videos. They had a table and several folks sharing their faith and tracts.

Diana and I were able to go to this event and saw how bad this world is getting. I had never seen so many unaccompanied young people wandering around with all the ‘partying’, drink and outrageously dressed people. By young I mean 10-15 years old.
We went out handing the million dollar bills and through the night were able to give out over 600. Not a lot..

I spoke to a young girl who was with her mom. I think she was about 8 years old. “Mom” had read the MDB and I asked if I could ask the girl some questions. I could see the apprehension on the mom’s face and she said they were Catholic. Now the first question I really had but did not ask – what is this little girl doing out here????? I asked the girl – never got her name – if she ever lied. She said she had and said a person who lies is called a liar. I then asked if she always obeyed her mom and did what she was told. She said yes but mom was quick to correct her. I said , you did say you told some lies, Is this one of them? She admitted she did not always obey her parents. I then explained about salvation through the blood of Jesus and how she was guilty and Jesus paid her fine but she needed to confess, repent and put her faith in Jesus.

There were 6 young girls about 11 to 15 or so. I asked whom I thought was the oldest what she thought after looking at the MDB she got. She said she will go to heaven because she goes to church. I let her know that sitting in a pew would not make her a Christian. She got mad at me and I then asked how I could get to heaven? She could not tell me. Then the one I think was the youngest of the group said – "I can tell you." I said please tell me and she proudly said, "Admit you are a sinner to God, repent, put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ and read your Bible everyday!" Wow 1 in 6 could answer! Kind of follows the rest of today’s statistics in the modern church.

There were a few other good conversations as well but the music was very loud, and the distractions were plentiful in this miniature Sodom and Gomorrah…
Hebrews 2:2 For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and if every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation...?

On Sunday Jeff scheduled some current students to come out. I got paired with Natalie, who was new but willing to be used of God. Natalie was great at being friendly and had no problem handing Million Dollar Bills to people and telling them to read the back.

Walking down through the parking lot we met Brian and Ramone. Brian was actually much more interested in Natalie than he was finding out the state of his soul. Both guys were very honest and listened until I finished. We gave them a Good Person booklet and they went their way. Natalie was able to see the conviction come across their faces and we immediately stopped to pray for these guys. We gave out more tracts and then Natalie met a guy named Mark who had just come up from the beach to his car. He was soaking wet but seemed very polite and said he would talk after he found his towel. He was unsuccessful so he just came around to the front of his car and drip dried. It was actually cool out so I offered him my sweatshirt. He declined politely.

Natalie started a great conversation with Mark and found out that he had attended a church just that morning. Natalie took him through a couple of the 10 Commandments and Mark admitted that he had failed to keep them. Natalie got a little stuck so she asked me to step in. I noticed that Mark had used the word ‘repent’ so I asked him if he knew what it meant. He told me that he thought it meant saying we are sorry to God. I took him to a courtroom where he was ‘guilty of manslaughter’ after backing out of the parking lot and running over a two-year-old unknowingly. He had a look of abject horror on his face. I told him to imagine that the Judge had found him guilty and wanted to know if he had any words before sentencing. I reminded him that the girl’s parents would be in the courtroom. He stated that he would apologize. I asked him if, once he apologized, he could go home.

He said, “Of course not.”

I told him the Judge was going to sentence him to life in prison without possibility of parole OR a $1M fine. I asked if he could come up with the money.

Mark said, “No...I am homeless.”

I told him that someone quickly came in the back door of the courtroom, waving a check. This man had sold everything to pay this penalty. The Judge verified the payment was good and asked Mark if he wanted the court to accept it.

Mark refused and said he would not want someone else to pay for his wrong.
I had a copy of the Gospel of John and asked Mark to read John 14:6 out loud. He did and seemed very quiet. I asked Mark if there was anything he loved more than his soul. He quickly said, “I love my wife-I would die for her.”

I said, “Mark, what if you wanted to give your wife something you know she needed but she refused. You knew that she really did need this but she kept refusing to take it…would you feel frustrated?”

Mark seemed very deep in thought and said that he would be very frustrated.

“OK, now can you leave the courtroom?” I asked him.
“Yes.”
“Yes, not because you apologized but because justice was satisfied. It is a legal transaction, right?”
I took Mark to another courtroom, but this time the person who wanted to pay was Jesus, Himself. I told Mark that it was written in Isaiah-long before Jesus Christ ever came-that all of our iniquity was laid on Him. I told him that Jesus looked far into the future and knew all of the things that Mark would do wrong and He took them anyway. I told Mark that Jesus had kept every tear he had ever cried.
At this he looked up into my eyes. “Mark there is a very, very real possibility that you will wake up one of these times and take your next breath in Hell. You see, all debts will be paid. You will pay for your sin with your own soul, or you will accept this payment Jesus Christ made for you…what will you do?”
He was thinking hard at this point, and then said, “I will take that payment from Jesus Christ.” He was unsure of what to say to God so we asked him to take the literature we gave him and read it through. I told Mark that if I could do it for him I would, but it doesn’t work that way. He would have to talk to God and get things straightened out.
Mark thanked us for talking to him and said he would certainly read everything. He finally accepted the sweatshirt, too. Natalie and I walked away and prayed for Mark and his wife.

Laura's Second Chance

Rochelle and I met up and started to walk through the parking lot to see if we could meet new people. We passed a girl and Rochelle handed her a MDB. She took it and since I was about 10 feet behind Rochelle I stopped the girl to talk. I noticed that she was having trouble speaking. I couldn’t figure out if she couldn’t speak or was having trouble thinking. She did not say her name but showed me on her purple cell phone that it was ‘Laura’. I asked her some questions and I gathered that she had never gone to church. I could see that Rochelle had stopped to pray for me and I prayed that God would help me to understand this girl. She said she was not familiar with the 10 Commandments but admitted to lying. Then she stated that Jesus was dead! I told her that wasn’t true and that He lived even now! She insisted it wasn’t true. Then she didn’t want to listen anymore so I thanked her and told her we needed to go. We started to walk away. She followed and asked if she could come with us.

“You don’t agree with what we are saying so why do you want to come with us?” I asked her.

We talked for a minute before she rescinded on her admission of lying. I told Laura that she was actually an enemy of God’s right now. She told me I didn’t know God. I said that she was actually spiritually dead. She insisted that I didn’t know God and asked me his last name. I could not tell if she was being difficult or just didn’t understand. Again I thanked her and left.

This time she followed me all the way back onto the boardwalk but stayed about 15 feet away. Rochelle was talking to someone so I was alone. I walked within sight of Dennis and Jeff in case anything weird happened-you never know. She seemed like she was very troubled. I walked over to her and asked her if she had questions. She repeated that Jesus was dead. I was ready to walk away again.

Suddenly she said, “Jesus is in Heaven with God.”

“Yes, He is!”

“But He died so why you say He is alive?” she almost yelled it.

“He died and on the third day He rose from the dead, defeating Death and Hell for you and me, Laura!” I told her. “He is alive. He loves you so much that He has even kept every tear you have ever cried in a bottle! That’s how much He loves you! I am telling you the truth!”

She was troubled and put her head down in her hands on the railing. She stood up and said, “I know!! He is dead and in Heaven. “ She made a gun with her hand and pointed it at her chest. “I tried to kill myself!”

“Why Laura?” I asked her.

“Because I wanted to go to Heaven with Jesus!” She was really frustrated.

“He loves you so much that He didn’t let you die!” I replied.

“But I wanted to die!” she cried.

“If you had died you would have gone straight to Hell-you would be there now! He brought you back so that you could have another chance to follow Him!” I told her.

At this she put her head in her hands and cried. She continued to cry for a few minutes and I could see she was really in pain. Then she turned and hurried away.

Act 13:47 For so the Lord has commanded us, "I have set You to be a light of the nations, for salvation to the end of the earth."

This world is so dark. Sometimes when the Light shines into our eyes, it hurts.

Fishing at the beach.

People were crawling all over the beach today…guess it’s because of vacation. Tons of college students. Jeff, Rochelle, Dennis and I met there and right away Jeff walked into the middle of a group of Spanish-speakers. Even though he speaks no Spanish he was prepared-he had Spanish MDB’s and Good Person booklets in Spanish.

Dennis found a man who hated God. He said that God was evil for killing the entire world in the Flood. Dennis reminded him of how the people were living but it didn’t seem to faze him.

In the meantime Jeff talked to a woman who told him that her husband was a pastor. She had three kids with her and we gave them all tracts to pass out. When he was finished she walked over and interrupted Dennis, who was mid-conversation with someone!! Even though we motioned her away from them, she just kept talking. Dennis kept his cool and carried on.

I met a girl named Brittany who was unusual. She had odd pieces of jewelry on and fish bones in her matted hair. She told me that she and her sister make jewelry. Since she was friendly we talked about Heaven and Hell. She said she was on her way to Heaven when she died. I asked how she would get there and she said she was a good person. We started talking about that and after admitting to lying, thieving and blaspheming she told me that God would overlook her sin. In the middle of this the pastor’s wife showed up and started talking! I started to tell her to go away but I felt that I should not say anything. Suddenly she was gone as quickly as she had appeared. I told Brittany that God would not overlook her sin. She stopped listening and started asking if animals were in Heaven…

We met groups of kids and when possible they all got the test. Three girls I spoke with took it seriously. Others made it clear they were on vacation. Rochelle put it well when she said, “They think they are on vacation from God, too.” Hmmm.

Jeff met a guy who told Jeff that he was headed to Hell. He listened for a moment but then told Jeff he would enjoy it there.

Rochelle talked to Scott who said that he was trusting in his baptism to get him to Heaven.

Sean was visiting from Massachusetts. Walking up, Dennis noticed a fresh scar down his back. He was recovering from multiple injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident while driving too fast. He said that before the accident he thought he was invincible, but that had changed. They had a good conversation, leaving Sean with knowledge of his heavy burden and the Only Way to relieve it.

Jeff spoke to a guy who said he was a Christian but had a problem with sin. After speaking with him Jeff knew from the conversation that he was not saved.

We meet so many who have a false sense of security. Some trust in a verse taken out of context, or a conversation with a ‘spiritual leader’ who declares them to be ‘righteous’. Some trust in a feeling they have, others in an experience or a magic prayer. Some people even trust in what 'their parent told them'! All who trust in anything other than Jesus are LOST and on their way to HELL!

Act 4:12 And there is salvation in no other One; for there is no other name under Heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

They Came Two by Two

Last night was wonderful! Mary, Gail, Jeri and Tracy were all ready to go, Jeff was pumped and Diana was ‘blessed’ as usual. Ron and Tammy called to say they were on the way and after pizza and prayer we hit the ground running!
Gail, a first-timer, went with me. We met a man named Paul. He refused to take anything from us and told us he already had many tracts. Gail tried later to see if he would take a Good Person booklet from her but again, her refused. We will be praying for Paul.

At first, the fish were few and far between. I kept thinking, “Man, this is her first time out and we don’t have any fish!!” .
We walked the length of the parking lot and distributed the crumpled bill booklets at the driver’s door of each car. Gail remarked that this was an easy way to hand out tracts. If someone is new this is a great way to help them to get rid of the jitters
On the way back we saw a young couple leaving the beach. They veered out of our way but they didn’t realize we wanted to run into them! We changed course and met them face-to-face. They smiled as we gave them Million Dollar Bills When asked what they thought happens to us when we die, Sunita replied, “We go to Heaven?” At this point we noticed that 3 members of our group were not far away and it was clear that they were praying for us. I am so thankful that our team recognizes the importance of prayer! We can do nothing apart from God. (John 15:5) .

As we talked about the Law of God, they both became introspective. When they learned about what Jesus did so that they would not have to spend eternity in Hell, Worley smiled. Sunita remained serious. I asked them what stopped them from receiving this great payment. Worley said, “Nothing.” Sunita agreed with him. They both decided to settle their accounts with God right in the parking lot! When Worley prayed he thanked God for sending us to tell them the Good News. He also asked God to bless us. Little did he realize that God had already blessed us!! As we walked away, I prayed that God would guard their hearts! Gail was all smiles and remarked that they were very open. We always pray before we go that God will send His Holy Spirit to open their hearts and He certainly does. Thank you God!

As we walked back up the parking lot we saw another young couple walking to the boardwalk. We handed them the MDB’s and they smiled. We asked them the million dollar question and it took them both a second to reply. Victoria said, “Heaven” was her destination. T.J. wasn’t sure if he knew what the 10 Commandments were but after hearing them-he remembered. They answered each question honestly and quickly came to realize that they were on the wrong side of the proverbial fence. Victoria was carefully weighing each statement, while T.J. was still cracking jokes with each answer. When they realized what the purpose of Jesus’ sacrifice was they both became solemn. As I explained to them how they both could avoid Hell, they listened intently. When asked if they would prefer to pay with their own souls they said they would not. Both Victoria and T.J. opted to pray with us right where we stood!

Rom 3:19-20 But we know that whatever things the Law says, it says to those who are under the Law; so that every mouth may be stopped and all the world may be under judgment before God,
because by the works of the Law none of all flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law is the knowledge of sin.

Not everyone heeds the warning of the rip currents but we would be remiss if we didn't post the signs.

Sunday Fishing-Part 2

Walking down the next rows we continued to drop tracts. Diana took one row and I took another, we dropped hundreds! Walking down the row I noticed a man sitting in a van, watching me. I walked over and told him that I would not make him bend down to pick it up and I gave him a $1M bill. I told him it was a gospel tract and that there was a million dollar question on the back. He said, “Oh yeah, this is the part where we are supposed to talk, right?” I said, “Sir, you are big enough to squash me like a bug, so if you don’t want to talk-we are not going to talk!” He said, “No, go ahead.” I asked his name and he told me it was Don. He also told me he was on R and R from the Middle East. I asked him the million dollar question and he began to tell me what a good person and father he was. He told me he was a good husband, etc. I started taking him through the test and he said, “Yeah, yeah I know I’ve sinned.” I told him that we all had but I asked him to slow down and really take it in. He was agreeable that he had sinned but didn’t think that God would condemn him because “God was forgiving”. I explained that God was also Righteous and Holy and Don became quiet. When I told him what Jesus did-he announced the name of Jesus quickly before I did. I told him that it was good to know who Jesus was but not enough. I explained that demons have known Him a lot longer and a lot better than he did-they will not be in Heaven. At this point Don stopped talking and started listening carefully. I told Don that Jesus never offered Himself as a pardon for the demons but He did for Don. We continued to talk for a minute and when I was finished I asked Don what he would do with Jesus. “I would accept Him!!” I waited…and waited. Finally I said, “Don, what keeps you from making this decision today?” He hesitated for a moment as if coming out of a deep sleep and said, “I…nothing. Nothing keeps me from making this decision!” I said, “Why not pray then and take care of it now?” He stuck his large hand out of the window, took my hand and prayed! Diana had walked over toward us to pray when she saw me talking with him and she now came over to us. We were so happy we could have danced! Don got a phone call and we walked away happily. We were about 30’ away from him when he called us back. When we walked over he said, “I just want to say thank you for giving me the Word today! I needed a wake-up call!” Don’t we all, Don!

We were hot and tired and we needed water but we could not stop there so we walked over to Starbucks. Well, we got some water and sat inside near a young couple. He had on earphones and was doing some sort of work on his laptop and she was punching keys on hers. Diana played sinner while I played saint. The girl looked at the guy right after we started talking and he took off his headphones. They both listened intently during the entire conversation. We left these tracts all over when we finished.

Outside we met a man named Dominic. Diana gave him some money while I gave him some water. Concerned for his soul we began to talk with him. He told us that he has been a Christian for 20 years and adamantly said that without Jesus Christ he was, “Nothing!”. We talked a bit and he told us that his wife brings him out every day to sit there. We bid him goodbye and he blessed us.

We made our way to the front doors of Wal-Mart. Diana took the Entrance and I took the Exit. We handed out about 300 more tracts before security came for us again. When Derrick came out the door I asked him if he was the ‘muscle’. He smiled and said no but he refused the $1M bill we offered. We had now been run off for the second time that day but it was worth it!

Luk 14:23 And the lord said to the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, so that my house may be filled.

Fishing is always exciting because you never know what you might catch. I remember one time sitting under a bridge in south Texas with my Dad. We were fishing in a swampy lake and we thought the hook might be snagged. We pulled and pulled and thought we were bringing up some weeds and branches. Instead something very strong and dark came up to the surface and rolled over, snapping the hook off. We looked at each other and I think we were both glad it got away!

Not so on this day!!

Sunday Fishing-Part 1

Diana is a teacher, which means she gets the summer off and since she loves to fish as much as I do…we went fishing on Sunday! We decided to go to an outdoor shopping center. We began dropping tracts in the parking lots while we made our way over to the movie theatre.

When we got there we spotted two young men, each sitting alone. She took Matt and I talked with Chaz. This young man listened carefully and was very honest. I left him with a Good Person booklet and he indicated that this was important enough that he would be talking to God later this evening.

Diana was having another conversation with two girls. Both listened carefully as she gave them the Good Person test. Elizabeth failed it and was very disturbed, her eyes held back tears. Her friend Tabitha said she was a Christian and Elizabeth looked shocked, as if she had never heard this before. Diana asked Tabitha where she thought Elizabeth would go if she died this day. She looked disturbed as she said, “Hell”. When we finished, Elizabeth promised not to wait but to make things right with God. 2Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness…” in this case it did a little bit of all.

Suddenly we were set upon by two uniformed security officers. Officer H. told us that since we were on private property we would have to stop “soliciting” immediately. He told us to go over to Wal-Mart, that they didn’t mind this sort of thing. We all knew he was just trying to get rid of us but we were obedient and thanked him.

We made our way over to Wal-Mart and began dropping crumpled bill booklets in the parking lot. As we went up the rows we met a gal who was loading the passenger side of her truck. I gave her a $1M and she laughed. I started talking to her and she made a joke and said, “She’s the one who needs to hear this-she’s really had it rough!” as she pointed to her friend making her way toward us. Diana quickly said, “I’ll get her” and walked toward her. I continued to talk and the friend joined us on the other side of the truck. I gave them both the test and “Pam” stopped making jokes. Her friend meanwhile had stopped unloading and put her forehead down on the side of the truck bed, as if she were really bothered by what was being said. They both remained quiet as the gavel of the Law came down.

They did not argue as they were condemned to Hell. When they learned of why Jesus came to die they were silent. I handed “Pam” a Good Person booklet and went around the truck to give her friend one. She never raised her head from the truck but she held out her hand to receive the booklet. We noticed that after they got into the truck they stayed there for quite a while before leaving.

Hebrews 4:12 For the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing apart of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Oh, how awesome to watch it at work!
